Aldiss is a family owned business established in 1892. We have two 50,000 sq ft superstores and a distribution centre in Norfolk. We sell 'everything your home desires' including furniture, homewares & flooring and both stores have a restaurant. We also have a website at www.aldiss.com. We employ c. 180 people and job roles are diverse.
As a seven day week high street retailer with a mixture of full and part time staff, it is often difficult to organise training around days off, promotions, etc. The online BCarm training allows staff to access and complete their training plans at times convenient to them. The administrator is able to track training progress and follow up where necessary. The scoring system and response prompts also allow us to target follow up reviews to areas where we might have an issue.
Trainees find the BCarm system user friendly and easy to navigate courses and contents. They find it interactive and engaging, layout of the courses and contents give practical and relatable examples of health and safety scenarios. The system can also be accessed on tablets and smart mobiles as well as company pc's and laptops.
The number of modules available allows us to tailor training plans to individual job roles. Training can be specific so time is not wasted on irrelevant or unnecessary training, time which can then be spent on the job role itself. Additional more specific modules are available which again help to tailor training programs to specific job roles.
Set up of the BCarm system was straight forward and we can make amendments ourselves without the need to constantly refer back to BCarm. However when we do, responses are prompt and helpful.
All in all we find the BCarm online training to be a very useful tool as part of our overall Health & Safety training regime.
