We believe Health and Safety has three intrinsic components:
COMPLIANCE – understanding the legal requirements and dealing with these in the context of the organisation
PROCESS – how you operationalise the COMPLIANCE so that you have a living, real-time process, and
PEOPLE – because the best COMPLIANCE and PROCESS still requires engagement of the relevant people in the business.

If you’re a H&S Professional, you’ll have COMPLIANCE under control, and if you are reading this insight, you might be thinking about improving or evolving your process with software.
Let’s look at why not all software solutions are the same.
There are 2 types of “software” providers, tech companies who have systemised a process and a company like BCarm, a risk management solution provider, who provides software to drive the PROCESS but whose proposition can also support you with the COMPLIANCE and the PEOPLE components.
So, our “software” discussions look quite different.
We’ll want to understand your environment and the day-to-day challenges you face to achieve COMPLIANCE or get as close as possible.
We’ll discuss how your organisation is aligned with safety and how it’s measured, how well people’s Roles and Responsibilities are defined, and what visibility exists around their activity.
We’ll discuss performance data so that you have the critical information to analyse what’s happening in the business and how you currently use LEAD and LAG indicators to proactively manage risk and build alignment. If you don’t have LEAD data, we’ll discuss how you can create it.
We’ll discuss what you would change in your process tomorrow if you could and why. We'll also ask how much you feel your existing process is a barrier to engagement and what would change it. We’ll also ask what has stopped you from doing it in the past.
We’ll also discuss Employee Engagement and the cultural challenges you may face when introducing something new, particularly involving a technology step change. If necessary, we’ll hold a pre-mortem with you to spot potential problems.
So, as you can see, not all software solutions are the same.
